The Murals

Apart from the numerous attractions, street arts are flourishing in recent years too. Majority of the murals in Muar concentrates around the town centre. So it’s easy to hunt them down. And most of them are gigantic, occupying the walls of multi-storey buildings fully. Missing any of them are almost impossible.

And more importantly, these murals are mostly a years old — completed in 2016. If you are interested in street arts, do check them out before they are weathered out over time.


Muar River Cruise

Muar is a very walkable city. The promenade on the Muar River makes a popular place to take a stroll. Here you’ll find lots of benches where you can watch people and grab a snack under a shady tree.

It was euphoric as the boat cruised towards Kampung Sabak Aur, allowing you to drink it the sights of the Clock Tower, Sultan Ibrahim Mosque, Sultan Abu Bakar Building, Pekan Rabu Muar, Marine Police Jetty, mangrove swamps, fishing boats and other interesting structures while appreciating the breeze playing with your hair and on your face

Ticket prices are just RM12 for Malaysian adults; RM6 for children; RM15 for foreigners. The jetty is located within Tanjung Emas Park.


Don Hu Jurassic Garden

With more than 30 dinosaur sculptures in the park, Don Hu Jurassic Park in Muar will make you feel that you are really in the Jurassic Park.

Nasuha Herbs & Spices

Nasuha Herbs & Spices Paradise in Johor is a plantation that produces up to 135 types of herbs and spices. Spanning 3200 acres, it the largest plantation of herbs and spices in Asia.

There are many activities for visitors to choose from at this farm, but the main feature here is of course its namesake, herbs & spices. The farm, given its large space, also provides outdoor activities to those who are more adventurous.

If outdoor activities are not what visitors are looking for, head to the Nasuha Resort for a relaxing spa treatment, using locally cultivated herbs to refresh, revitalisation and rejuvenate the body. The farm even has its own herbs-themed restaurant that caters to the health conscious.

Local Coffee

Muar is home to many local factories that produce high-quality coffee. The local coffee is renowned across much of Malaysia and the rest of the world. You can get to know the area’s coffee directly with a coffee tasting.

Many coffee shops here offer lots of local brews. Coffee is often served with toasted bread and boiled eggs. Sampling coffees with bread and eggs make the perfect way to start your day.

Dataran Tanjung Emas

Dataran Tanjung Emas is a public square within Taman Tanjung Emas. The centrepiece is a pavilion with a tower overlooking Sungai Muar. Since August, 2016, the pavilion has a mural called Bangsa Johor. On the river side of the square is a tall flagpole.


Muar Cultural Walk

Muar Cultural Walk or Laluan Budaya Muar. Located at Jalan Meriam, Pekan Muar, 84000 Muar, Johor. A visit to these art works will give you an insight in to Muar culture.
